On November 4, the High-end Forum on the integration and innovation of traditional Chinese Medicine and the National Key Laboratory construction kick-off meeting was held in Linyi, Shandong Province.

Huang Luqi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serves as the chairman of the Academic Committee of the National Key Laboratory for Integration and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Tian Jinzhou, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Jiang Jiandong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serve as the deputy chairmen. National Ministry of Science and Technology, Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Department, Linyi Municipal People's Government, Linyi Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and other competent department leaders, supporting unit leaders, laboratory academic committee experts, laboratory council members attended the meeting. Academician Huang Luqi, Academician Tian Jinzhou and Academician Jiang Jiandong delivered academic reports respectively, and organized the first meeting of the Academic Committee.

At the launch meeting, Bi Liming, Deputy mayor of Linyi City People's Government, delivered a speech. He pointed out that the successful construction of the national key laboratory will effectively promote the scientific and technological innovation of traditional Chinese medicine in Linyi City, promote the transformation of old and new kinetic energy and the development of the medical and health industry in Shandong Province. And said that Linyi City will effectively strengthen the support for the construction of the national key laboratory, in the human, financial, material and other aspects to give strong and continuous support.

Mr. Zhang Guimin, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman and general manager of Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, gave a welcome speech to all the leaders, experts and colleagues who guided, supported, helped and participated in the construction of the national key laboratory. He said that the construction and operation of the national key laboratory will inject new vitality into the development of Chinese medicine science and technology and provide strong scientific and technological support for the development of the national medical and health industry.

At the first meeting of the National Key Laboratory Academic Committee, the experts conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the construction and development planning of the laboratory, and put forward important guidance for the laboratory scientific research content and construction and operation management.

According to reports, the National Key Laboratory of Integration and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly the State Key Laboratory of common technology of Traditional Chinese medicine, was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2010. In 2022, it will be jointly restructured by Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine and Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, and approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2023. The laboratory adheres to the principle of "inheriting essence and maintaining integrity and innovation", takes traditional Chinese medicine theory as the guidance and traditional Chinese medicine prescription as the core research object, combines theoretical innovation with clinical practice, interprets the principles of traditional Chinese medicine with modern science and technology, forms new technologies and new methods for the creation of modern traditional Chinese medicine, promotes the modernization and industrialization of traditional Chinese medicine, and realizes the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine. Effectively serve the Healthy China strategy and promote the internationalization of TCM.
