Biosafety laboratory
GB50346-2004 "Biological Safety Laboratory Building Technical Code" (Architectural and technical code for biosafety
laboratorie) Biological laboratories and animal laboratories that meet biosafety requirements through protective barriers and management measures.
Classification of biosafety laboratories: According to the degree of biological hazards of the objects handled by the laboratory and the protective measures adopted, the biosafety laboratories are divided into four levels, among which the first level has the lowest requirements for biosafety isolation and the fourth level is the highest. Generally, BSL-1, BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 indicate the corresponding level of biosafety laboratory; ABSL-1, ABSL-2, ABSL-3, ABSL-4 indicate the corresponding level of animal biosafety experiments room.
Technical indicators of biosafety laboratories: Class II biosafety laboratories should implement first or second barriers, and third and fourth biosafety laboratories should implement both first and second barriers.
